Starbucks & World AIDS Day

In case you need an excuse to grab a Gingerbread Latte tomorrow, this post is for you. On December 1st Starbucks is donating five cents of every purchase of a handcrafted beverage to the Global Fund to fight AIDS in Africa. Sure five cents may not seem like much, but it is our collective effort and commitment that creates change and brings hope. Heck, grab two lattes, bring one to a co-worker and spread some Christmas cheer at the same time. What is your favorite latte, Pumpkin Spice or Gingerbread?

Fire & Vine

After a brief hiatus, we're back to it!



R and I have enjoyed a few dinners at Fire & Vine since it's opening. I particularly enjoy the shrimp and grits. We've also had fun tasting the different wine flights. A few days ago I received an email announcing a new bar menu and happy hour specials. If you don't mind dining in the bar, it looks like there are some nice deals to be had. The menu is available here. Happy hour is daily from 4:30 to 7:30 and during that time all woodfired pizzas and flatbreads are just $5. Martinis are also $5, domestic beer is $2.50 and there are weekly wine specials. Happy hour specials are only available in the bar, so keep that in mind.



If you aren't in the mood for a $5 pizza at the bar, be sure to purchase a dining certificate here worth $25 but priced at just $10 when you spend $40 (alcohol not included in the total).

Free Cold Stone

Cold Stone is offering a free 3 oz. Jack's Creation ice cream today from 5pm to 8pm with a donation to the Make-a-Wish Foundation. According to the Cold Stone website, Jack's Creation is a "Sweet Cream Ice Cream mixed with Brownies and Rainbow Sprinkles and topped with Caramel."
